Brennan-Millan & Company Inc. is a long-established firm in Bakersfield with its roots extending back to George Hobson, the first CPA in the Bakersfield area.

Our principal Rick Millan has over 40 years of public accounting experience. Our firm consists of approximately ten individuals, which allows partners to have direct contact with each client and provide personalized service.

We are members of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Divisions for Firms, Private Companies Practice Section, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA).

As a member of the AICPA Division for Firms, our firm complies with rigorous standards of professionalism, including:
  • Undergoing a peer review every three years. The peer review is a thorough, objective and independent examination of our firm's accounting and auditing practice. The results of our review are available to the public and we would be glad to provide you with a copy of our most recent unqualified review.
  • Overseeing that each professional member of our firm completes a minimum of 80 hours of continuing professional education every two years.
  • Adhering to published AICPA quality control standards.
  • Reporting certain information annually about our firm. This information is also available for public review.

Our certified public accountants

RICK MILLAN, CPA
Graduated from Fresno State University in 1982; received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1985; and achieved a Masters Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University in 1993. Rick has been practicing in public accounting since 1983. Rick’s areas of expertise include retail, telecommunications, medical service, agriculture, and oilfield service.
RICHARD C. BRENNAN, CPA (RETIRED)
Graduated from Fresno State University in 1965; received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1967. Dick has been practicing in public accounting for over 50 years. He is a Past President of the Bakersfield Chapter of the California Society of CPA’s and has served on numerous local and state committees. He is also active in community service. Dick’s areas of expertise include agriculture, oil and real estate.
ROSEMARIE MILLAN, CPA
Graduated from California State University, Fresno, in December 1984 and received her Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1987. Rosemarie has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. In addition to public accounting, she also has extensive experience in private accounting, as a part-time controller managing her family-owned agricultural farming companies. Rosemarie’s areas of expertise include agriculture, oil service and real estate.
